Meet the Winners: Keir Bowden

It’s our favorite time of year again! No, not the drizzle-fest that passes for a British summer. The time when we get to meet the fantastic winners of the Digital Revolution Awards and find out how they’re making a positive impact on our world through cloud technology.

In this Meet the Winners blog, we’re getting to know the winner of the Outstanding Contribution to the Salesforce Community award, Keir Bowden.

Our Outstanding Contribution to the Salesforce Community award celebrates those who go above and beyond to foster a thriving ecosystem—a pioneering individual whose work has inspired and enabled their peers, their colleagues, or their clients to reach new heights.

And for an unprecedented two years running, that individual has been Keir Bowden.

Keir has been a guiding light in the Salesforce ecosystem for over a decade. As CTO of Credera, an award-winning Salesforce partner, he’s not just a tech wizard; he’s a passionate advocate for empowering others.

His influence extends far beyond Credera too, shaping the industry through innovation, knowledge sharing, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. A 10-time Salesforce MVP and CTA, Keir is a living encyclopedia of Salesforce. His thirst for knowledge is matched only by his desire to share it.

From packed webinars reaching nearly 1,000 attendees to concise quarterly release breakdowns, Keir makes complex Salesforce updates accessible to everyone. His AI readiness series in particular has become a go-to resource, demystifying this emerging technology and inspiring practical application.

Keir’s knack for transforming technical jargon into plain English makes him a sought-after speaker. His sessions, whether at London’s Calling or Dreamforce, are consistently insightful and engaging. His ability to break down complex topics like mutation testing and second-generation packaging into actionable takeaways has earned him the trust and respect of the Salesforce community.

Off the conference stage, Keir is a driving force behind the London Salesforce Developers community. He’s organized over a dozen meetups, sharing his expertise and fostering connections among fellow developers. His blog and substack are treasure troves of Salesforce wisdom, with over 20 posts published in 2023 alone. Keir’s writing is a refreshing blend of technical depth and strategic thinking, always delivered with a clear and engaging style.

A prolific open-source contributor, he has helped level the playing field for developers everywhere by creating tools that streamline workflows and inspire innovation.

At the core of all this fantastic work is Keir’s ultimate goal: to shape the future of Salesforce. As a trusted advisor on the platform, he’s involved in crafting product roadmaps, ensuring that Salesforce continues to meet the evolving needs of its users. His commitment to excellence, combined with his passion for sharing knowledge, makes Keir an invaluable asset to the Salesforce community.

And as the first two-time Digital Revolution Awards winner, the rest of the Salesforce world certainly wants him to know just how much his work is appreciated.

“I won this last year, which I was surprised about because there’s a very high caliber of nominees,” said Keir. “And when I was looking at the nominees for this year, I thought the caliber was even higher, and this definitely wasn’t going to be my year. Having won it last year as well, I thought they would probably give someone else a chance, so I’m absolutely delighted.

“There’s so much contribution goes on in the Salesforce community, so many people doing such great work that to be recognized by that community and by this community. To be called out amongst those people is absolutely fantastic.

“I’m just delighted and astonished. I mean, for me, this is great to have won this award, but this won’t hold me back. I’ll be looking to do more and more in the Salesforce community over the coming years. I’ve been doing this for a long time. I’m really keen to keep doing it and to keep helping people.”
