Meet the judges—Michel Mayor

In our Meet the judges series, we’ll be chatting to some of the cloud tech experts on our judging panel to find out more about their experience, their passion for cloud tech, and what they’re making a beeline for at the awards ceremony buffet…

Michel Mayor is the EMEA SVP Salesforce Service Line Lead at Merkle.

In this role, Michel leads one of the largest Salesforce practices in Europe, helping brands leverage the power of the Salesforce technology. Michel takes great pride in engaging with Salesforce’s talents and celebrating “Merkle’s Mahalo”; a cohort of 1,300+ skilled professionals globally. He believes that the ecosystem’s future success is conditioned by the collective capacity to identify the next generation of talent, and very much looks forward to being part of the Digital Revolution Jury to celebrate the excellence of the nominated individuals and companies.

With 15 years’ Salesforce experience under his belt, Michel’s career spans across all Salesforce Clouds, and previously saw him lead a Global CRM program for a Fortune 50 business and advise some of the most inspiring B2C brands in the world.

Let’s get to know Michel.

Which category are you most looking forward to judging and why?

The Outstanding Contribution to the Salesforce Ecosystem award; having been in the Salesforce ecosystem for over 15 years now, I’m always keen to find out how talented people can use Salesforce technology to unlock incredible achievements.

How has cloud technology made an impact on your life, or within your business?

Cloud technology has always been at the forefront of the digital revolution and has been a key accerlator in my personal career.

Key benefits of cloud technologies have made IT more accessible and have helped business-minded technologists thrive in our rapidly evolving world.

Are there any events or performances from the cloud tech space that have wowed you in the past year?

Dreamforce: a must attend.

What makes a great nomination?

A great nomination is one that demonstrates an innovative use of existing technology to create a long-lasting, sizeable impact for a business and the greater good.

You're at an awards ceremony; what food are you making a beeline to the buffet table for?

I’d rather skip the food and focus on celebrating our talents and achievements; after all, we have daily opportunities to eat, but how frequently can we exchange with award-winning individuals!

"Focus on your project, create a nice story, follow your passion and deliver on your commitment—when passion meets results, your nomination will be a winner!"

How important are awards in promoting diversity and inclusion, especially in sectors like tech?

Merkle is at the forefront of the Diversity and Inclusion agenda; I believe in equal chances and feel we are too frequently missing out on someone’s true talent due to preconceived ideas. Let’s use such events to break down our bias and celebrate the world’s talent competencies.

If you were to win an award yourself, perhaps for a secret talent, what would it most likely be?

Not sure I deserve one… I’m simply happy to use my passion to help our talented professionals express their full potential, and, in turn, help our clients maximize the impact of digital technologies.
